The Weeknd Pleads No Contest to Punching a Police Officer
“She told me, ‘Don’t worry about it.’”
In January, The Weeknd was arrested in Las Vegas for allegedly punching a police officer. According to the report, police attempted to break a fight that he was part of in Cromwell Hotel at 4:20 AM. As he was pulled into an elevator, he allegedly punched the cop in the head. Abel recently pleaded no contest in a Las Vegas court, as reported by TMZ. The plea requires him to pay $1,000 to an injured cop fund and to complete anger management and alcohol evaluation. On top of that, he will have to complete 50 hours of community service for a non-profit group in Canada. If he meets the requirements in all of these and avoids further legal issues, the case will be dismissed.
