Best New Tracks: Smino, Rapsody, Lil Durk, Billie Eilish, Eyedress and More

Previously, we spotlighted new releases from Mick Jenkins, Sampha, Tom Misch, Kamaiyah and Maggie Rogers. This time around, we’re examining another pretty busy week for the musical realm.
Dor out latest weekly round-up, we’re rounding up new projects, singles, and visuals from Smino, Rapsody, Lil Durk, Billie Eilish, Eyedress, Junglepussy and Aaron Aye. Once again, there’s a ton of new high-quality music to check out.
Smino – “L.M.F.”

Zero Fatigue/Downtown/Interscope Records
Smino makes his return and shares a new single titled “L.M.F.” The abbreviation stands for Lion Mufasa, and the record is filled with a ton of Lion King puns. Over Sango production, a frequent collaborator of Smino, the St. Louis rapper puts out a strong effort.
Rapsody featuring J. Cole – “Sojourner”

Jamla
J. Cole and Rapsody link up for “Sojourner,” a record that appears to be off the upcoming Jamla Is the Squad II compilation album. The introspective record finds both superstars reflecting on their insecurties and truimphs.
Lil Durk featuring Lil Skies – “Rockstar”

“Rockstar” is the latest single to drop from Durk’s highly anticipated project Signed To The Streets 3, arriving on Nov. 9. In the video, they contrast the beautiful Beverly Hills with grimy filters to match the duality of living a rockstar lifestyle. Lil Durk has been drawn to the vivid electric guitar sounds of heavy rock production and Lil Skies was the perfect fit for a memorable collab.
Billie Eilish – “when the party’s over”

Just days before her North American 1 by 1 tour starts, Billie Eilish releases the video for “when the party’s over.” Produced by her long time collaborator and big brother Finneas O’Connell, ‘when the party’s over’ is a slow building, minimalist track featuring Billie’s stunning vocals and a piano.
Eyedress – “NO FUN”

Lex Records
Filipino-born artist Eyedress shares a new video for “No Fun,” which is directed by Julius Valledor. The visual pieces together footage filmed over a day of skating and mayhem that follows Eyedress in Freddie Krueger-inspired makeup.
Speaking on the inspiration for the video, Eyedress says, “‘No Fun’ is about being sick of where you’re from. For the video I burnt my face off and went skating near the docks in the oldest part of Manila with my homies Julius Valledor and Joaquin Dimayuga.”
“No Fun” is the lead single from Eyedress’ new album, Sensitive G, that’s arriving on Nov. 16 via Lex Records.
Aaron Aye – “Cold Winters”

L.A. by way of Minneapolis artist Aaron Aye shares his new video “Cold Winters.” It’s a single from his debut Orphan album that he dedicated to his mother who lost her life to cancer when he was 15 years old and he was later orphaned.
Junglepussy – “State of the Union”

Junglepussy
As she wraps up her headlining US tour, Junglepussy shares a new video for “State of the Union.” The record is the opening track off her third studio album, JP3, which was release earlier this year. The visual is directed by David Wept and sees Junglepussy taking a stroll through her neighborhood.
Speaking on the importance of the video, she says, “I shot this with my family where I grew up on my grandparents’ block in East New York. It had to be my most exciting shoot yet. I’m so grateful they’re in a Junglepussy video that will forever.”
