SOPHNET. Reworks Traditional Japanese Clothing for Spring/Summer 2018
Playfully reworkings of noragi jackets and workwear staples.
Japanese casualwear stalwart SOPHNET. recently issued a video lookbook teaser for its upcoming Spring/Summer 2018 collection, and now the first drop of the collection is here, encompassing layering pieces, shirts, and even a footwear collaboration.
SOPHNET. partially strays from its recognizable streetwear silhouettes for more progressive outerwear, offering up collarless jackets and coats in the vein of traditional yukata and noragi alongside flowing, lightweight coats. In line with past offerings, the collection offers plenty of blue items — the label’s signature hue — and button-up shirts with graphic accents, seen here with plaid stars and patches, alongside cropped and tapered chinos, executed with patch and slant pockets. Accessories come in form of colorful caps and patterned bags detailed with large stars, offered in both paisley and tiger camo. Rounding out the release is a pair of derby shoes crafted by Sanders, featuring the brand’s recognizable, chunky rubber soles.
Look for the range to release on January 27 on SOPHNET.’s web store. For more contemporary Japanese looks, check out PINE Spring/Summer 2018.
