Drake and the Toronto Raptors Expand Deal With "Welcome Toronto"
More OVO gold.
The Toronto Raptors and its “Global Ambassador” Drake have taken their partnership to the next level, having recently announced its “Welcome Toronto” program. The program will consist of six special home games as well as plans to donate $1 million USD to refurbish local community basketball courts and an additional $2 million USD to Canada Basketball.
For each of the “Welcome Toronto” home games, the Raptors will wear its new OVO-edition uniforms and debut a new home court made from northern maple wood and outfitted in OVO‘s signature black and gold. On the latest project, Drake stated:
“As this team and Toronto continues to grow, we have seen how much we can do together. “Welcome Toronto” is about celebrating our team and our city, but also working together to give back to the community and creating a place where the youth of our city can come together to play. These same courts could also potentially shape the next generation of Canadian basketball superstars.”
The “Welcome Toronto” games are as follows:
Friday, January 26 vs. Jazz
Sunday, January 28 vs. Lakers
Friday, February 2 vs. Trail Blazers
Friday, March 9 vs. Rockets
