Maiden Noir Keeps it Warm and Cozy for 2017 Fall/Winter

Inspired by the works of Cy Twombly.

Maiden Noir is back for the Fall/Winter 2017 season with another collection lookbook of cozy, sophisticated essentials. In line with the label’s art-centric influences, such as Spring/Summer 2018’s David Hockney inspiration, the latest ready-to-wear collection sees through the eyes of renowned American painter, sculptor and photographer Cy Twombly. Titled “Traces of Warm Light,” this range encapsulates a lesser-known photography series by Twombly and translates the images’ soft colors and effusive sense of warmth into sophisticated yet modern ensembles.

Muted brown and tan hues, rich evergreen shades and burnt rose colors are met with warm natural wools, vibrant satins and plush velvets that materialize traditional and sportswear silhouettes alike. Subtle plays on contrast and particular consideration for balance come through in outfits that pair utilitarian cotton uniforms with chunky mohair sweaters and loose, oversized fleeces with thick wale cord textiles.
