Chance the Rapper May Be the Host of Russell Simmons's Upcoming 'All Def Poetry'

Def Poetry Jam might be getting a reboot of sorts, and Russell Simmons has taken to social media to tease Chance the Rapper as the new host. Although it will be called All Def Poetry, the show will most likely share a likeness to Def Poetry Jam, which was a spoken-word poetry series hosted by Mos Def that ran between 2002 and 2007, featuring many high profile guests during it’s run. As Simmons has a longstanding relationship with HBO, there is no telling just what the new series might develop into. Check out the video below to see how a young Kanye treated the platform, performing acapella lyrics that would eventually make it to his albums.
