Hometown label Emporio Armani made its city proud during Milan Fashion Week by showcasing its 2018 spring/summer collection. Featuring a wide variety of different looks, the brand started off by showing off different jackets and dress pants, sticking to dark colors for the most part. These were complimented by an assortment of loose-fitting pants and followed by another set of jackets that sported a more metallic look. Emporio Armani then rolled out a line of different colored kimonos, made from silk and came colored in both a gold and black colorway, as well as a black, red and white set. The gold kimonos were paired with black trousers, while the red ones were worn with something similar to a traditional Japanese hakama.

The show was finished off with an appearance from Canadian-born singer/songwriter Shawn Mendes, who appeared in a promotional video for the brand before taking to the runway wearing a black and red jacket with matching pants. In an effort to appeal to a younger demographic, Armani described Mendes as “a singer of true talent who touches the hearts of his fans.” The designer when on to say in a note that “Shawn embodies and conveys the values in which I believe: Professionalism, commitment, and innovation.”
