Face-Mapping Video Projection Is the Future of Live Performance
Transforming the human face into a canvas for digital art.
After it was used to project a red lightning bolt on Lady Gaga’s face during her recent GRAMMY tribute to David Bowie, facial mapping projection became the talk of the art and technology world. WOW, the studio behind Gaga’s tribute recently created INORI (PRAYER), a video which highlights the speed and artistic capabilities of the projection system. The video features Japanese dance duo AyaBambi performing a fast-paced dance, displaying how the technology transforms the human face into a canvas for digital art while demonstrating pace and precision ushering a new frontier of visual experimentation.
