An Official Look at Riccardo Tisci and Marc Newson's Upcoming Air Max Silhouettes for NikeLab
Spotlighting the AM97 and VaporMax, respectively.

Earlier this March, a photo depicting a Riccardo Tisci x NikeLab Air Max 97 collaboration made the rounds online. Now, the Swoosh releases official photos of the collaborative sneaker alongside visuals of a new VaporMax iteration created by acclaimed industrial designer, Marc Newson. For Tisci, the AM97 boasts a dark navy color scheme, metallic gold accents, an embossed “Nike x RT” logo on the lateral heel, as well as a crisp white outsole to boot. Conversely, the Newson partnership sees full-grain leather construction, a Flyknit sockliner fitted with a Velcro strap and, of course, VaporMax technology that consists of bubble cushioning throughout the entire outsole.
“I gave the shoe more height. I think it’s much more street. It’s a new kind of stance, one which I would want in my wardrobe,” said Tisci to WWD. “Fashion is having a big moment with sportswear, which is good. But, I think honesty is what people really want in design.”
Both pairs will be available for purchase on Air Max Day this March 26. The Riccardo Tisci x NikeLab Air Max 97 will be sold for approximately $200 USD while Newson’s is set to retail for approximately $275 USD.
