The Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” was not only Nike‘s biggest launch of 2016, but also the Swoosh’s biggest release ever — surpassing the previously reigning Air Jordan 11 Retro “72-10.” Nike’s Brand President Trevor Edwards announced in a statement that “The Space Jam 11 was the largest and most successful shoe launch in the history of Nike,” confirming the hype surrounding the iconic shoe.

This year, Nike and adidas have been “virtually equal” in sales globally, except for in the U.S., where Nike earned $14.7 billion USD in sales for this past fiscal year, outstripping adidas’s $3.6 billion USD sales. In its third quarter 2017 fiscal review, NIKE, Inc. saw a 5% increase in revenues, putting it at a net value of $8.4 billion USD.
