IROJE KHM Architects Built A "Flying House" Near Incheon Airport

Seoul-based architectural firm IROJE KHM Architects built a unique home inspired by flight in Incheon. The “Flying House” near Incheon’s Airport was designed for a pilot and his family. Taking design elements from flight, a unique flow inspired by aircraft and its movements showcased while traditional Korean architecture includes a living room that has a seated heating stone setup. Environmental balance is stressed throughout the interior and exterior with a design that integrates gardens within the center of the complex as well as on a path leading towards the roof. In addition, natural light is available in all parts of the house with large glass windows. In order to stay within budget, concrete was used as both the framework and finishing material.
