Editors’ Picks: Wardrobe Essentials on Our Radar
Take a look at what our team members want to buy.

In our latest series, we highlight everything that our editorial team wants to buy, bought, or missed out on. The premise is simple — what’s something that you want to buy or bought recently, and why? Our first instalment deals with apparel, and we get a wide range of pieces from graphic T-shirts to deconstructed trousers reflecting our editors’ personal styles and tastes. Let us know what you think of our picks and whether any of these pieces pique your interest.

For those who know me, it’s pretty obvious that I’m a huge fan of NIGO and his OG streetwear label A Bathing Ape. So of course I got excited when my colleague/friend Helena Yeung sent over Coolporate’s NIGO Tribute Tee my way. As my most recent purchase, I would have to say this will now become my go-to tee when I’m working in the office or running around Hong Kong. — Mallory Chin

My most recent purchase was this TAKAHIROMIYASHITA The SoloIst. sweater as I’ve been trying to find the perfect crewneck for a while now. The idea was to find a black crewneck sweater that could be the only one I can wear forever so it had to be timeless. I enjoy how the side pockets are deep plus angled slightly upwards and not like the kangaroo pockets you normally have so nothing falls out.

I’m also on the search for one of his MA-1 jackets that released a few years ago. It reminds me a little bit like the scorpion jacket in the movie ‘Drive’ albeit this one doesn’t have a scorpion on it. Just something about it that I can’t quite pinpoint, maybe it’s the peculiar graphics and the elongated zipper pulls that is drawing me to this piece. — Arby Li

Skepta’s stylist and bootleg designer Sports Banger’s “Raving T-shirt” is a fun screen-print release that brings together the classic Reebok side stripe-cross check logo and that of the National Rail. Printed on the finest of Gildan, here’s your boogie attire for the eve. — Arthur Bray

The current item I want is COMME Des GARÇONS Homme Plus 2017 spring/summer collection unconstructed trousers. I really enjoyed how the collection was inspired by Hans Christian Anderson’s epic fable, The Emperor’s New Clothes that expresses the moral; don’t take yourself too seriously. Additionally, I found it interesting how Rei Kawakubo took the moral and used it in a deconstructionist way to offer an avant-garde take the classic trouser. — Nicolaus Li
