Although the Finnish brand Karhu is relatively obscure stateside, the label has been in business since 1916 and is popular in parts of Europe and Japan. Additionally, in 1951 Karhu sold its three stripes trademark to adidas for two bottles of good whiskey and the equivalent of €1,600 EUR. Karhu then began using its now signature M-logo. Kanye West has been known for putting brands on, with many brands worn by the rap star becoming coveted by streetwear heads, but can we expect Karhu to feel the Kanye effect?
