Demna Gvasalia Takes Over a French Chateau for 'Vetements Summercamp'
Peek inside the Paris fashion collective’s second photography book.
Demna Gvasalia once again teamed up with photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti and publisher IDEA on a new photography book titled Vetements Summercamp. Friends and family don the Paris fashion collective’s 2017 fall/winter collection as they engage in all sorts of vices inside a château in Northern France. Lechery imbued and time forgot, the visuals implore viewers to join in on a weekend of “cooking, playing, chatting, shooting clothes, laughing, and having loads of fun,” said Gvasalia to Vogue. Carlotti quips: “It was like shooting a reality show … I’ve never been in a summer camp and I don’t have a TV. Everything seemed like a fun and wet dream. Every time I do a documentary, reality seems surreal to me.”
All in all, the book boasts 480 pages and highlights the aforesaid collection with collaborative pieces conjured with Levi’s, Juicy Couture, Manolo Blahnik, Champion and more. Vetements Summercamp is set to launch on October 3 at the COMME des GARÇONS Trading Museum Paris—following a limited release at Dover Street Market London; New York; and Ginza, Tokyo on October 4. A worldwide launch is slated for October 5 at select stores and at IDEA’s official website.
