Link Is Back in 'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild'
You can finally return to Hyrule in 2017.
It’s been a long time since fans had a chance to traverse Hyrule, but soon they’ll get a chance once again: Nintendo has finally unveiled its latest Zelda game. Long in the works (the game was originally on track for a release last year), Breath of the Wild will finally hit consoles next year and essentially looks like a modern version of the iconic series — complete with a huge open-world take on Hyrule. Billed by Nintendo of America president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime as “an entirely new format for a Zelda game,” Breath of the Wild looks to incorporate contemporary platform elements along with overhauled combat and even armor and weaponry upgrades for Link.
Though details are largely under wraps, Nintendo did reaffirm that the game will not only come to the Wii U, but will launch alongside the yet-to-be-revealed NX as well — which is supposedly still on track for a March 2017 release.
