Juun.J Experiments With Pilot Suits for Its 2017 Spring/Summer Collection
The Korean designer was inspired by the anti-gravity suits’ technical aspects.
Korean designer Juun.J followed up his Pitti Uomo guest residency with a collection that both encapsulated and challenged current streetwear trends. Central to this presentation was the designer’s recent obsession with G-suits. The anti-gravity flight suits are designed to parachute and distend in order to prevent blood from pooling in the extremities, which would inevitably result in loss of consciousness and death. These aspects were reimagined and applied to street staples like hoodies, bombers and jeans, then inflated to cartoonish proportions and adorned with intricate lace lattices. Oversized trousers were also layered over combat fatigues, acid-wash layered underneath suit-pants. Check out the full collection above.
