Instagram Has Doubled Its Daily Active Users Due to Overseas Interest
However, why are people uploading less?

Gone are the days when a smartphone with smart applications was a mere accessory rather than the extension of one’s own stimulus and brand. That fact alone becomes verily evident when one hears reports that the mobile networking overlords at Instagram recently reached an incredible touchstone, in terms of social growth. According to TechCrunch, Instagram now has 300 million daily active users while increasing its members twofold since the past two years. The photo and video-sharing company pin its massive social boost to the apparent accelerating amount of signups it has received overseas—from countries such as Japan, Germany, France and Indonesia.
Strangely, the amount of people uploading photos to its platform have decreased with only 95 million posts, despite having just garnered 500 million monthly users. This could be due to Facebook’s famed photo app shares the pit with social media giants like Twitter and Snapchat — sites that boast a commonality of digital tics like personal and branded hashtag campaigns or a feature like “Explore.” Do users have a proclivity to post on Snapchat rather than Instagram? Or to Instagram instead of Twitter? One thing’s for sure, as technology advances, so do APIs and personal tastes — with folks oscillating from one social media platform to the other.
