Take a Closer Look at Gosha Rubchinskiy's 'Save and Survive' Collection
Including a preview of the upcoming Vans Half-Cab collaboration.
Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy has premiered a lookbook and a short film capturing the backstage work that went into his Fall/Winter 2016 collection, dubbed ‘Save and Survive.’ The lookbook features many skate- and street-inspired pieces, including double-sleeved, oversized knitwear; camouflage beanies; and branded suspenders. The lookbook also includes images of an upcoming Vans Half Cab collaboration, featuring a camo upper or a deep navy midsole. This silhouette stands alongside Rubchinskiy’s established PACCBET Reebok Classics, seen here in black and white colorways.
The short documentary meanwhile features footage of Rubchinskiy overseeing the rehearsal process, as an armada of street-cast models walk the catwalk. The models, including teen photographer Tom Emmerson, are all clad in some of the hottest skate-inspired streetwear of the moment, be it Supreme or Fucking Awesome, before donning Rubchinskiy’s irreverent interpretations of youth cultural staples.
This premiere comes in the wake of Rubchinskiy announcing that his Spring/Summer 2017 collection would debut at June’s Pitti Uomo trade show, so make sure to watch the film as preparation.
