Public School 2016 Fall/Winter Collection
Inspired by David Bowie and ‘The Man Who Fell to Earth.’
Hot on the heels of our trip backstage comes a full look at Public School’s Fall/Winter 2016 collection. Unveiled today ahead of New York Fashion Week, the designs, oddly enough, took inspiration from David Bowie — even before he was sadly lost last month. In particular, the pieces take cues from the “loner from the outskirts” of 1976’s The Man Who Fell to Earth. The result, according to co-founder Dao-Yi Chow, is a range that allows the wearer to “navigate the new land” and aptly offers everything from survival-inspired camouflage to down-filled outerwear and layered, utilitarian details throughout — making it the latest evolution of the New York label’s signature streetwear-meets-sport aesthetic.
