SneakersBR Pulls out All the Stops for Its Pre-10th Anniversary Friends & Family Event
Alongside adidas and emerging creatives from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Brazil’s top online sneaker and culture magazine, SneakersBR is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary in March of next year. But before the official celebration in 2017, the São Paulo-based publication thought it would be a good idea to kick things off with an initial event launch alongside some of its closest friends and family.
In partnership with adidas, Sneakers BR made sure the colorful and creative world of São Paulo was fully represented this past Sunday, November 27th. Attendees were treated to a myriad of activities, installations, and purchasable products — there was the I Hate Flash on feet sneaker wall, the Rider outdoor lounge, a marketplace for kicks and goods, and a photography series celebrating female sneakerheads. There was also the “Symmetry in Chaos” photo installation by NOTTHESAMO and photographer JP Faria, and specially made T-shirts for “Friends and Family” by contemporary brand, PIET.

As for the adidas side of things, there was a wall focused on the history of Three Stripes’ running shoes, an EQT-dedicated section that included a preview of the “King Push” EQT Primeknit, and shelves filled with specially picked models by some of Brazil’s most passionate adidas collectors, aka adi-lovers. But perhaps the most impressive section by adidas, was the NMD Studio where visitors got to play music producer — they got to remix a specially made song for the event by Drik Barbosa, Sants and Deryck titled, “No Corre,” which they also performed at the party. It became the most played song on Spotify Brazil recently.

To really whet the appetite of sneakerheads in attendance however, the Via Matrazzo venue also proudly displayed some rare and covetable sneaker models. There were different versions of the Yeezy kicks from the Nike years, special adidas Futurecraft styles, hard-to-find NMDs, some old school Nike SBs, and more. SneakersBR and adidas even raffled off a few pairs of the adidas Originals YEEZY Boost 350 V2. As for music, a multitude of DJs that included Lil Silva kept the party going and the people dancing. All-in-all, the event was a reminder that São Paulo, Brazil has a powerful community of sneaker enthusiasts, fashion forward individuals, and determined young creatives. A special real-time zine was even created at the party to highlight some of them.

If this is just a kick off to its official 2017 10th anniversary, it will be exciting to see what SneakersBR will be capable of for next year.
