Forever 21 Drops a Nostalgia-Packed Lineup of Products for Holiday 2016
Too Short, ‘Rocko’s Modern Life’ and Cam’ron are just a small sampling of the references.
Following up its late summer collaboration with Justin Bieber’s “Purpose Tour,” mega retailer Forever 21 keeps the musical inspiration going and builds in some intense nostalgia for the cold-weather months. For its latest drop, Forever 21 has partnered with merch brands to stock everything from vintage rock ‘n’ roll, to metal, to ’90s and early 2000s hip-hop gear. A bleached Too Short hoodie and a T-shirt featuring an airbrushed rendition of Cam’ron in his iconic pink fur coat set the tone of the collection but, the pop culture iconography doesn’t stop at music — fonts and graphics featured across the other pieces reference everything from Rocko’s Modern Life to skate magazines. A selection of outerwear, including printed and jacquard camouflage bomber jackets, as well as denim and joggers, finish out the drop by adding in some of today’s trends alongside the throwbacks.
