Taco Bell Unveiled Its New Logo and People Hate It
Has minimalism gone too far?

Established in 1962 by Glen Bell, Taco Bell has been serving up Tex-Mex favorites to hungry patrons all over the world with locations from Iceland to Japan and Saudi Arabia. To coincide with its recent opening of a flagship Cantina location on the Las Vegas Strip, Taco Bell introduced its new logo designed by its internal design group Lippincott. But, the new logo has been met with hate from fans, as many are questioning the place of design minimalism in fast food. The new logo strips down the previous logo down to the bare essentials, removing the bold and vibrant blue, magenta, and yellow colors and replacing the stylized font opting for a more defaulted look. Compare Taco Bell’s new and old logos above and let us know what you think.
Taco Bell’s new logo is about as fresh is a stale two month old churro you found under your passenger’s seat #branding #why

Makeover, @tacobell? Looks like refried beans to me. #designfail

@tacobell Booo what a downgrade. My guess is it is to save money on wrapper and cup printing. Cheaper to use 1 ink color. — Big Steve (@BigCougSteve) November 14, 2016
The bell looks nice but the logotype being black and so large looks weird and too heavy. #logos #tacobell https://t.co/ZOqluE5xVo

The bell icon’s still there, but it’s been stripped of all its zing … ???? #branding #logodesign #tacobell https://t.co/gikdDOvKTs
