David Bowie Completely Shut Down Coldplay Collaboration
David Bowie was pretty clear about his feelings towards the song.
You could never accuse David Bowie of holding back. In a newly-released interview with NME, Coldplay’s Will Champion shared a pretty funny story regarding what happened when Coldplay reached out to Bowie for a collaboration. Despite a great deal of care and effort put into the song they sent Bowie for consideration, Bowie’s response was pithy: “It’s not a very good song, is it?” Following up, Champion added that he gave Bowie credit for being “very discerning” and not being the type of artist willing to “put his name to anything.” Check out Will Champion’s full discussion on the topic above.
