Christopher Shannon is a designer that always likes to include Easter eggs in his design lines (Easter eggs meaning little surprises throughout, not the chocolate variety). His garments usually have minimal elements that you have to search for in order to discover and his latest line shown at London Collections Men is no different. The offering was inspired by the suburbs of Liverpool, which was where he grew up. It embodies the comfort of home along with the horror of being stuck in a town that fails to nurture creative pursuits. The pieces seamlessly fuse together the working-class with high fashion and utilize a pastel color palette. These colors represent those synonymous with mass sports chains that are prevalent in England including Esprit and Benetton, all the while expressing them in silhouettes that act as a stark juxtaposition. The line includes patched wears, zippered sweaters, and wind cheaters and varsity cuts. Shannon definitely pushed himself out of his comfort zone and delivered something fluid to his design chronology.
