Run The Jewels and the LA-based crew of producers and DJs, Soulection, have just announced a weekly radio show on Apple Music’s new global radio station ‘Beats 1.’ FTJ’s show premieres tonight and airing every Friday at 6 p.m. PST / 9 p.m. EST, while Soulection’s show is set to premiere tomorrow. RTJ was hand-picked for the station by famed DJ Zane Lowe and the program is the only non-studio produced show on the station, each episode recorded on location as the duo make their way across the globe on their ever-expanding world tour. And in regards to the Soulection’s new slot, Joe Kay, who co-founded Soulection, also touched on their new relationship with Apple (via FADER):
“Apple has managed to create a platform where everything is in one place, which is something that hasn’t been done before…I already check my iPhone music app daily to listen to my own music and playlists, and now I can also listen to live DJs/radio, research the songs that are playing live, and buy/stream the full songs without having to open another app. Another game changer is Connect. Artists that have Connect pages can literally support each other by sharing their peers’ music.”
