Real Madrid defender Pepe has sat down with British soccer brand Umbro, and his father, to discuss growing up in a working class family in Brazil, his first forays into the game and how his family struggled and sacrificed to buy him his first pair of boots. The 10-minute long candid chat between the Portugal star and his father Anael shows a light-hearted and sensitive side to Pepe that is so often absent in his on-field displays and also goes some way to dispelling the myth that all interviews with professional soccer stars are scripted and monosyllabic.
