Most Talked About Menswear Topics for Fashion Week 2016 Spring/Summer Season
Lyst analyzed shows, reviews, articles, blog posts,and social media to build a word-cloud visualization of the most discussed topics from SS16.
Following an estimated 247 menswear shows spread across 18 days in four worldwide cities, innovative data analysis company Lyst has compiled an infographic explaining the top 100 topics covered, discussed and predicted for the 2016 spring/summer season during this year’s fashion weeks. By analyzing over 2,000 text reviews, Lyst effectively filtered through thousands of component words to then group them into unique bi-word combinations, which were then ranked by frequency and determined using a sentiment analysis model. Findings were then cross referenced against the most commonly mentioned menswear terms on social media platforms (Instagram and Twitter) for a list comprising of popular designers, front row celebrities, future trends and many more. This easy to digest infographic spans from the names of Thom Browne, Calvin Klein, and Dries Van Noten to recurring trends and buzzwords such as palm trees, field jackets, nineties and oversized.
