Gosha Rubchinskiy x Timur Novikov x Dover Street Market 2015 Summer Lookbook
This collaboration encapsulating post-Soviet youngster style will hit DSM stores this weekend.
Revealed through his minimalist Instagram account, Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy is taking inspiration from fellow Russian artist Timur Novikov on an exclusive collection for Dover Street Market. The fashion designer/photographer/filmmaker rose to fame through photographing his friends, and has become a trailblazer in the fashion world renowned for his stripped-back aesthetic which riffs on post-Soviet youth culture. For this exclusive collection, Rubchinskiy takes from Novikov’s body of work, who was one of the leading figures in the Soviet Nonconformist Art movement. More specifically, Rubchinskiy reimagines Novikov’s Horizons series from the late ’80s, which manifests itself in a simple sunrise motif seen throughout the collection.
