Apart from LEGO, there is arguably no other toy set as definitive to a boy’s childhood as those bundled bags of cheap, green plastic army men. Installed at the frontline as supreme commander, many six year-old boys the world over have no doubt enacted bloody battles that determined the very fate of their playroom, with the little green men spawning feats of courage that would have been worthy of being immortalized in song and folklore. Now, GOOD ART HLYWD is reviving the memories of kids-at-heart by recreating those green army men, albeit in a slightly more valuable material. Cast in precious sterling silver and retailing at a whopping $235 USD per soldier, or $2,585 USD for a set of 12, the figurines are available in classic, skullface and doughboy versions, and are as much valuable mantelpieces as they are play pieces. Available here, just make sure your kids don’t get anywhere near them.
