Ahead of next week’s Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, Microsoft has officially unveiled the updated edition of the Xbox One. Featuring a new matte finish, the console is highlighted by 1TB of on-board storage — double that of the original design — for your games and media, as well as the capability to extend the console’s storage capacity via an external USB 3.0 drive. Packaged with the console is a newly redesigned wireless controller that now comes with a built-in 3.5mm stereo headset jack, thus infinitely expanding a user’s headset options.
Xbox One 1TB consoles will start shipping to retailers June 16 in the United States and select markets later this month and will be available starting at $399 USD — complete with Halo: The Master Chief Collection for a limited time. To coincide with the launch, the standard 500GB Xbox One’s price has been reduced to $349 USD.
