Tonight’s Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards honors the best in American fashion, and tonight, Shayne Oliver of Hood By Air won big. Taking home the Swarovski Award for Menswear, Oliver beat out some tough competition, such as Orley’s Alex Orley and Ovadia & Sons’ Ariel and Shimon Ovadia. Oliver was also up for this award last year, but lost out to Tim Coppens. Shayne Oliver is the founder and designer of the cult New York City-based streetwear brand, and has seen great success since founding the brand in 2006. The Swarovski Awards are given to emerging labels, while established labels are up for designer of the year awards. In that category, Tom Ford was the man of the night who won the coveted Menswear Designer of the Year Award.
