Marina Abramovic Says She Was "Totally Used" by JAY Z for "Picasso Baby"

It’s been over two years since JAY Z took over New York’s Pace Gallery to film A Performance Art Film, a project aligned with the Magna Carta… Holy Grail track “Picasso Baby,” but there’s no statute of limitations on Marina Abramović’s displeasure with how the whole thing turned out. A Performance Art Film was inspired by Abramović’s “The Artist Is Present,” and featured JAY performing the song for six straight hours as spectators and celebrities stood in attendance. Now, in a new interview with Spike Art Magazine, Abramović is calling JAY Z out, saying that she had agreed to appear in the video and let him adapt “The Artist Is Present” on the condition that he donated to the Marina Abramović Institute. However, she said she still hasn’t received a monetary donation, claiming it was a “one-way-transaction” and that she won’t make the same mistake twice. JAY Z has yet to issue a response to Abramović’s claims.
