The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach Announces "Extra Weird" Solo Project, Plans "Boxing-Related" Songs
In a new interview with Rolling Stones, The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach is pulling back the curtains

In a new interview with Rolling Stones, The Black Keys‘ Dan Auerbach is pulling back the curtains on a new, forthcoming solo effort and a pair of boxing-themed singles. Rollng Stone writer Patrick Doyle detailed Dan Auerbach’s next project as such:
“Auerbach’s solo project, called the Arcs, will first release two ‘boxing-related’ songs: ‘Stay in My Corner’ and ‘Tomato Can,’ on a 7-inch vinyl at independent retailers on May 2nd, the day of the Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacquiao fight in Vegas. I can’t wait,’ Auerbach tells Rolling Stone. Auerbach, a boxer himself who regularly spars in his garage and backstage before shows, has already set up an official site for the new project.”
Auerbach also tells Rolling Stone to expect the forthcoming round of tunes from the Arcs to be “extra weird,” and that everything from the music to the visuals will fall under that experimental, “weird” banner. If this was April 1st, this might actually work as a prank, but it looks like Auerbach is completely serious. The famed musician admits to RS that the whole endeavor is “kind of ridiculous,” but adds that he’s “just having fun” and making art “with no responsibility.”
