Nicolas Jaar continues to dabble in the realm of cinema. The former Darkside polymath has linked up with Gil Scott-Heron collaborator Brian Jackson to create the soundtrack for a forthcoming short film entitled ”Eleven Times.” “Eleven Times” takes its inspiration from the controversial deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, with the title based on the amount of times Eric Garner yelled, “I can’t breathe.” The Samantha Casolari-directed short film will feature several individuals’ takes on their experiences with police officers, while Jaar and Jackson’s music will serve as the audio centerpiece. The film’s composition is said to take its inspirational cues from Gil-Scott Heron’s “Winter in America,” a song that featured Brian Jackson as one of its collaborators.
