Earl Sweatshirt Releases "Grief" Video, Voices Out Album Rollout "Confusion"

While surprise album drops have certainly been a popular and profitable way to release music these days, surprise drops that deviate from the original release plan, unfortunately, plague relationships between record labels and artists. Case in point, the recent confusion between Earl Sweatshirt and his label, which has left the young rapper notably vexed, causing him to vent his frustrations via Twitter. In a recent post, Earl informed his fans that the video release to “Grief” was supposed to be dropped first so focus would remain on the visual, instead of early hyping of the album that was not part of the agreed rollout plan. His upcoming album I Don’t Like Sh*t, I Don’t Go Outside is set to drop March 23, however, as we have seen in the past, these kind of deviations often cause delays in album releases. This, or Earl is trolling everyone with his melodramatic imitation of Anthony Tiffith’s frustrations with Interscope for Kendrick Lamar’s early release of To Pimp a Butterfly. Nevertheless, Earl’s album is up for preview on iTunes.
