Diplo and K-Swiss has joined forces for a new crowdsourcing campaign. The focal point of the endeavor will be a Diplo-helmed unit called “The Board,” a 100-member creative coalition that interested parties will have to apply to join. Those enlisted for the program will be allowed to take part in the future creative direction of K Swiss, and have the ability to “make real decisions on real projects that K-Swiss will follow.” In a statement released to the press, chief marketing officer Barney Waters said the following regarding the venture:
We believe that consumer aspirations have shifted. The goal has evolved beyond being the fastest runner or being a celebrity. Young people want their own brands, their own voice, and their own businesses. K-Swiss is committed to outfitting and inspiring this generation of entrepreneurs.
Diplo also stated that he was “excited to be part of The Board” and “to bring young entrepreneurial minds into the process to help build the next chapter at such a respected brand.” Those wanting to join “The Board” can apply here.
