The rift between Birdman and Cash Money and Lil Wayne is well-documented, but fellow Young Money/Cash Money cohort Tyga‘s role in the whole ordeal hasn’t really been expounded upon. During a recent press stop for Tyga’s new joint project with Chris Brown, Tyga made his intentions as clear as Wayne’s. While talking to the hosts of Ebro In The Morning, Tyga explained that he was “getting out the deal now.” While Tyga said his deal with Cash Money was a “great opportunity” and that he “learned a lot” in his time there, as time went on the Last Kings rapper realized the business side of things just wasn’t quite right. Tyga then went on to further explain, giving the following statement regarding his exit from Cash Money:
I was supposed to be out the deal. They agreed a number to let me out the deal. I was going to pay them to let me out the deal — even though they owe me money — because I ain’t petty. I just want to move on with my life.”
The whole interview with Tyga and Chris Brown is pretty informative and the pair shed some light on a lot of things, so you can check out the full thing above. Tyga starts talking about his Cash Money situation around the 26-minute mark.
