Mark Gonzales on Pioneering and Skateboarding for adidas Originals Superstar 80s

adidas Originals has teamed up with professional skateboarder and artist Mark Gonzales – also known as The Gonz — for a special collaboration as part of the relaunch of the Superstar 80s sneaker. A video to mark the release includes some insight into Gonzales’ own creative ambitions, as well as his thoughts on what it means to be a pioneer. He also shared a personal anecdote about getting hand-me-down shoes as a child and figuring out ways to make them his own, which perhaps provided the inspiration behind the shoe’s design.
