After making headlines this past week for appealing his wrongful dismissal decision in court (seen here), John Galliano is clearly looking to move forward in his new role as Creative Director at Maison Margiela. In a recent interview with Vogue, Mr. Galliano opens up about his suspension and subsequent firing from Dior, the steps he took in order to rebuild his confidence, and the inspiration behind his latest collection for the fashion house. He goes on to say “I’ve never done this sober before. And I have to keep reminding myself that it’s actually quite normal. It’s actually quite nice, John.” Furthermore, he offers insight into how thankful he is “to be given this second chance, I’m so grateful for it. It’s been such a joy to be able to create.” He also divulges the pyramid structure that he hopes to create at Margiela with haute couture influencing the rest of the mens- and womenswear collections.
