HYPEBEAST TV: Pro Skater Kenny Anderson Talks Edwin Watch Barbershop
Passions for skateboarding, nice watches and fine grooming come together.
Good things always come from friends who build together. A fan of Edwin Watch‘s bold designs, J. Brian Siswojo approached owner Jeffrey to propose launching a joint 1950’s barbershop. Together, the two opened a Crows Nest barber in Hong Kong (with two other locations in Toronto’s Kensington Market and Hamilton, ON), that combines the barbershop with an Edwin Watch storefront where customers can pick up their favorite timepiece and get a fresh trim in a vintage-styled emporium. ”Women go to salons. For dudes, you go to a barber shop. You get a little fade, you hang out with the homies, talk shit, and then back to work,” says Siswojo. Pro skateboarder Kenny Anderson was later enlisted as the face of the new skate culture-inspired “Lifestyle” watch collection. With 15 years of consistent experience, Anderson has garnered himself the nickname ”The Perfect Gentleman” as an ode to his smooth moves and forward-thinking style.
HYPEBEAST sat down with brand manager Siswojo and Anderson to discuss their shared love of skateboarding and style, and how they built this unique space as a haven for fine grooming, fine watches and fine company.
