Growing up to the raw sounds of Sid Vicious, Johnny Rotten and the Sex Pistols, Shane Gonzales was indelibly influenced by their anti-authoritarian philosophy, which in turn led to his founding the punk-influenced MIDNIGHT STUDIOS label. It all began innocently enough — as an avid collector of the hard-hitting imagery of punk rock bands, the 20-year-old designer’s spark to incorporate the images into clothes led to his reaching out to the music labels to make the connection, thus legitimizing his endeavor into the brand it is today.
