Skrillex and What So Not Link with Toto to Cover "Africa"
If you’ve ever been to a Skrillex show in 2014, you would have heard him ending the show with one

If you’ve ever been to a Skrillex show in 2014, you would have heard him ending the show with one of Toto‘s biggest tracks “Africa.” When Complex asked him about the reason behind this, Skrillex pointed to nostalgia, saying that it is “one of those records that I’ve been obsessed with lately that I like to play,” and that both he and Emoh Instead (one-half of What So Not with Flume) have made it “their song.” Recently, we have discovered that the electronic producers have taken his adoration for the song up a notch by reaching out to Toto for a collaboration to remix the track. Toto describes the “amazing writing/recording session” on their Facebook page:
“It is VERY melodic and Joe and I sang and the band is very cool and Skrillex is a very nice guy and very creative as are the team “What So Not’ It was a ‘love fest’ right away and we created something from a germ of an idea they had and it was a meeting of 2 generations.. NEVER would have thought it worked.. they called US and we went and ended up writing and recording a VERY cool piece. It will be interesting to see what they do with this. I love a new fresh challenge. We all walked away happy on both sides. Great experiment that worked. Dont worry.. Toto is NOT going dubstep haha It was fun session and we made some new friends.”
This is looking to an interesting collaboration, or as Toto puts it, “VERY cool and fun and fresh!” We will keep you updated as soon as the track surfaces.
