Have a Look at the Almost Finished Samsung HQ Located in Silicon Valley

Photos of Samsung‘s brand new semiconductor research and development headquarters, slated for a for a July 2015 opening, have just been released. Samsung joins the likes of Apple and Facebook in the Silicon Valley area of California with this new research hub designed by architecture firm NBBJ, whose previous projects include a 1.1 million-square-foot office for Google and the biosphere office for Amazon. Shaped like a glass donut around a central courtyard, the building’s transparent structure will allow employees and visitors to see people on every floor. The building’s design prioritizes productivity by enabling more spontaneous meetings that could foster creative thinking among colleagues. With new zoning rules encouraging denser urban development in San Jose, the tech giant’s new headquarters will be able to expand right up to the surrounding streets while most Silicon Valley campuses are surrounded by acres of parking lots.
