We now have more photos of the Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion self-driving concept car, recently unveiled at CES Las Vegas. Having removed the task of driving from the experience of the vehicle, the car is understandably optimized instead for interaction, communication and relaxation, hence its spacious lounge-like interior featuring four rotating bucket seats within an all-enveloping “digital arena,” with gesture-based controls, touch-sensitive screens and eye-tracking technology. The sleek, fluid-like exterior of the hydrogen-powered vehicle is engineered from lightweight carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), a material that BMW is using on its high-concept i3 and i8 cars, and incorporates two LED fields front and back to indicate the car’s current driving mode. Four doors with the lack of a B-pillar in the middle ensure easy boarding and exiting the vehicle. For a better sense of what the future holds, peruse the gallery above and watch the video below.
