The bright music of Russian pop-funk purveyors Pompeya will receive some reworking courtesy of a forthcoming remix compilation, and we’re premiering one of the biggest efforts off that project — an offering from LA innovator Jerome LOL. The Body High co-founder has cooked up a brooding take on Pompeya’s Real single “Liar,” completely eschewing the new wave-esque grooves of the original for something deeper, darker and more suited for the finale of an late-night warehouse rave. Jerome LOL’s remix of “Liar” will be featured alongside equally-impressive reworks and edits of Pompeya songs conducted by artists such as The Twelves, Amtrac, Moullinex and more. The entire remix project will see release sometime in August, while Pompeya’s next album Real will hit retailers on May 5 via Brooklyn-based record label No Shame. Pre-order here. You can stream Jerome LOL’s re-styling of “Liar” above.
