After initially starting out focusing on the advertising business, Cannes Lions has rebranded itself the “festival of creativity,” by expanding to explore creative content creation and branding recently. Besides having one of their major partners in Spotify, the event also undertakes a foray into the world of music by inviting the likes of Kanye West Courtney Love, Imogen Heap and Ne-Yo to address creativity in the music community today. While the latter will attempt to answer the philosophical question “Is your brand part of music culture or just borrowing interest?,” Kanye will be speaking on the subject of the link between digital progress and cultural evolution.
