It’s true, the mere proximity of a celebrity sends everyday people fawning for cellphone cameras and running for designer racks – and so succeeds the notion of ‘influencers’ in marketing. Considering this, the UK’s Telegraph has recently published an expository on how far some designers will go to get celebrities to their shows. The likes of Rihanna and Beyoncé are cited as raking in upwards of $100,000 USD to attend runway events, while even the fashion-savvy – e.g. Chloë Sevingy – have a charge to the tune of $67,000.
