Nas will soon be going indie, and he’s doing it with the launch of Mass Appeal Records, an independent record label, which, in addition to signing and developing new talent, will also serve as an outlet for new Nas music when his deal with Def Jam expires the end of 2014. The first among Mass Appeal Records release will arrive this Summer as a compilation project featuring Future, Pusha T, Mac Miller, A$AP Mob and Nas himself. Also confirmed is “Lost Tapes 2” and a posthumous album from the late great Pimp C that will pair the Houston legend with modern day hip-hop acts such as Juicy J, Mike Will Made It and DJ Mustard.
