Our/Vodka Launches Special Our/New York Vodka with Dave’s Wear House

Founders of Dave’s Wear House, David Ortiz – formerly of Dave’s Quality Meat – and Kevin Carney plan to put an end to a 100-year drought by opening a vodka distillery in Manhattan later this year. Partnering with Our/Vodka, the New York micro-distillery will be one of 11 new locations to open across the world alongside the cities of Amsterdam, London, Melbourne and even Detroit, and a Berlin location has already launched. The Sweden-based company believes in local power, so their unique business model aims to link with local people to provide their own take on the brand by mixing it with their city’s personality and expression. “Our/Vodka is interesting because it isn’t based on superficial ideas, it’s real people that are from the city that any person can relate to. It’s not a celebrity endorsement, which to me has been done and is very transparent,” says Ortiz. Carney went on to add, “The other cities are like our brothers and sisters — we are all different, but we have the same DNA. What we envision for our city is to tell our story and to grow a brand that New Yorkers can identify with.” Doubling as a tasting room, shop and event/gallery space, Our/Vodka New York is scheduled to open its doors this November.
