Mastodon Announce Sixth Album 'Once More 'Round the Sun' & Share New Song "High Road"

Mastodon have built a solid name in modern metal, having steadily risen to the top of their field after over ten years of work. Twelve years after their debut LP, the Atlanta quartet have announced their sixth full-length album Once More ‘Round the Sun. Bassist and vocalist Troy Sanders proclaimed to Paste the new project is “pure, authentic Mastodon,” and drummer Brann Dailor told Rolling Stone the album is “massive and intense,” and has “lots of epic greatness.” Dailor also promised “lots of huge riffs and new directions,” and production duties for the LP were handled by Nick Raskulinecz, who has worked with the likes of Foo Fighters, Rush, Deftones, and Alice in Chains. Once More ‘Round the Sun is scheduled for release on June 24 and can be pre-ordered on iTunes here.
